Great hostel! The host is very kind and helpful, the welcome drink is just splendid! Was able to leave my backpack and pick it up later after checkout. Breakfast was great and includes a refreshing mango drink.

JJ's is a phenomenal hostel. It's a relatively big hostel, but the facilities are super clean and comfortable, and the wifi is great. There is also a fantastic vibe at the place (also partly due to the size) so there are always people around who are up for doing something fun. The volunteers are also great and really add to the place - there is yoga every morning and at least 1x group activity organised every day. Merissa is also a perfect place to base yourself if you want to visit other beaches along the coast. I would highly recommend!

I recently stayed at Swell Shacks for one night and had an amazing experience. The hotel was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The design of the hotel is simply stunning and perfectly complements the beautiful environment. I loved waking up to the sound of the ocean and having the beach right in front of our room. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The breakfast provided was delicious and offered a variety of options. The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking sights. I had such a wonderful time that I will definitely be coming back in the future. I highly recommend Swell Shacks for anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay. Special mention for Gayantha and Madushanka, always smiling, very welcoming and helpful, they definitely make our stay even better 😃 !

Honestly, this is the best place I have ever stayed. There is literally nothing to complain about! Every single staff member went above and beyond, were so amazingly friendly and sincere. We stayed in one of the huts, which was enormous. There was even a fully stocked kitchen, which was great for making lunch. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was also spacious and it was so quiet and serene. The pool area was also another amazing aspect of this place. Always clean and calm. We found out that there was actually only 3 huts and 3 rooms above the main building, which meant that at times, you felt like you had the whole place to your self. As others have mentioned, it is a 15 minute walk to the beach - but that is not a problem at all. You can even catch a free tuk tuk to the main road, if you're too lazy to walk ;-) The breakfast was also delicious, and I swear, the man at breakfast makes the absolute best omelette I have ever had! Lahiru, Milan, the kind kind man at breakfast (I am so sorry, I forgot your name) and all the other staff was brilliant - thank you SO much! Please do yourself a favor and book this place - I promise, you will not regret it!

I cannot recommend Peacock Villa enough, the location is great, the rooms comfortable and the staff are really wonderful and accommodating .
