Everything about the Terrou-Bi is awesome. The staff are amazing a real credit to the hotel. Room was fantastic and so clean. Breakfast had a very good range. Private beach with life guards and massive adults pool and smaller toddler pool. Very hard to find a good hotel in Dakar, but this one could compare with other locations like New Your, UK and Australia etc etc ….

Vero and Francois’ property is beautiful, peaceful and spotlessly clean. It is within easy walking distance of the entire island, including various cafes and restaurants (Vero and Francois will recommend their favourites). There is fast WiFi, excellent breakfast, great shower pressure, large and comfortable beds in spacious rooms. Our room was situated on the second floor on a balcony which looks over the greenery-filled central courtyard. Make sure to book more than 1 night - our biggest regret! Thank you both so much for your hospitality!

It is a short walk from the ferry and might be a bit hard to find on your first time on your own. But no problem, get a porter or directions when you get off the ferry. It is a lovely walk as the island is so small and you walk through its beauty including past the Museum of Slaves. But the best part is when you get to the hotel. The hotel is built along the outside of old colonial walls - really interesting. And a quick path from the hotel to walk along the ocean and amongst basalt columns. If we hadn't stayed at this hotel, we would have definitely missed this unique geographical feature. We went to the island for the same reason everyone else goes, the Museum of Slaves and other architecture, but this was an unexpected bonus. We enjoyed it the way we did Iceland's basalt and Ireland's Giant's Causeway. The history of the island overshadows mentioning this in any literature that I am aware of. The owner is a very kind and hospitable host. She is a most impressive woman who is continually building her gardens and property. The gardener is a lovely man too and also one of the island's painters. This place with its lovely people and uniqueness beats any fancy 5 star corporate hotel.

I really appreciated the kind personal working here. They helped me with advice and wanted to make sure that I had a good time. Also very nice interior, Terasse for common use. Very comfortable bed. Great to be able to buy a beer etc. Close to Ngor beach which is a nice place in Dakar.

The stay was very special, a true hidden gem. The house is decorated with beautiful items curated from West Africa. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, and always there to help us out. The rooms were also very comfortable and quiet.

Set in the Jambaars district, Rysara Hotel is just 5-minutes from Dakar beaches. The hotel is ideally located to explore the city’s mix of original and modern architecture.

The room and services were excellent. Excellent range of choices for breakfast - I especially liked the fresh fruit and the pastries. The location was very quiet and convenient - only 4 minutes by taxi to the centre. The hotel is 3 minutes walk to the coast where there are great views and walks.

The people managing the apartment are nice and the apartment are cleaned every day unless you ask them not to; they were also very helpful. I will stay there again.
