Hacienda Herrera Tambopata ligt in Puerto Maldonado met uitzicht op de tuin en heeft een restaurant, een 24-uursreceptie, bar, tuin en terras. Er is gratis WiFi. Het eten was echt heerlijk en elke dag wat anders. En de tour guides (shoutout naar Chris) zijn vriendelijk én weten ontzettend veel van de dieren en de omgeving. 10/10 aanrader!

Kapievi Ecovillage biedt accommodatie in Puerto Maldonado en beschikt over een vegetarisch restaurant. De accommodatie ligt op 15 minuten rijden van het belangrijkste plein van de stad. We stayed 3 nights after spending time in a tambopata river lodge. Kapievi is a wonderful peaceful place with delicious food and quiet isolated rooms in a tropical setting.The pool is very welcome in the jungle heat. We had the inhouse vegetarian 3 course meal twice (different menu). The meals are beautifully presented, good portions and delicious. The staff were also very helpful arranging transport into the center of Puerto Maldonado. The location is on the outskirts of Puerto Maldonado so a taxi is necessary to and from. It's not walkable.

Posada Casa Bonita bevindt zich in Puerto Maldonado en biedt een buitenzwembad, een gedeelde lounge en een bar. Great place to chill for a few days. All rooms are equpipped with fan and AC and private bathroom and fridge. Clean place all over. Theres a bar, a beautiful pool and the host is fantastic and very friendly. Even took us out to buy some food anf other stuff. Helped us with everything. This place wilk make you chill out. Its worth it. There is harldy anything bad we can mention.

Quirquincho House Lodge bevindt zich in Puerto Maldonado met uitzicht op de tuin en heeft een restaurant, een gedeelde lounge, snackbar, tuin en terras. A really lovely, peaceful place to stay, surrounded by the sounds of nature, with all the little whooping, scratching, hooting critters that abound. Nicholas, the host, was so helpful in sorting us out with various things, including day trips. It is quite a way from town so organise your food and drinks before you arrive, and don't be fooled by the distance on the map - the real distance is further as you bounce around swerving round potholes. Some taxis might not make the journey depending on the season. Here be dragons....

ROSA'S HOUSE is gelegen in Puerto Maldonado en heeft een tuin, een gedeelde lounge en een barbecue. Er is gratis privéparkeren en de accommodatie biedt betaalde shuttleservice naar deze luchthaven. Amazing garden full of so many tropical trees and medicinal plants which you can use as herbs for tea. And there are so many cute animals that step into the garden. To see the prehistoric bird, Hoazin/Shanso to fly behind the house in front of you is a nice treat. Also you can see in the morning squirells, capibaras and monkeys and in the night tarantulas. I staid for 5 days and there were no mosquitos.

Het ligt op slechts 3,5 uur van de stad Puerto Maldonado. Met de bus bent u er in 1 uur. 2,5 uur per boot. Deze lodge is de enige binnen het Nationaal Reservaat van Tambopata. Fantastic lodge and research station deep in the reserve and the Amazon forest far from all visible signs of humanity, dense rainforest teeming with birds, animals, insects - it balances the discomfort of the steamy forest heat and biting insects perfectly with a little luxury when you are not out on excursions in the jungle - exactly what one would want from an Amazon experience.
