Located in Ban Nong Hin, Smile Box Coffee & Resort provides accommodation with seating area. The property features lake and inner courtyard views. Each room includes a balcony with mountain views and free WiFi. I like the facilities. (WiFi, beds, hot water, fridge all good.) The rooms themselves are nicely furnished shipping containers, but the resort as a whole has a lot of places to sit outside in the shade, there are flowers and butterflies, and its hilltop location means there is always a breeze. I stayed a week to go to the Phi Ta Khon ghost festival, but the resort is also centrally located in Loei, so I could also visit Phu Kradueng. The staff is efficient, making real coffee (not instant), doing laundry, arranging transport, etc. Can't be bettered for a quiet long stay. (The town, Nong Hin, has a food hall, 7-Eleven, bank, pharmacy, and shops.) The mountainous countryside is gorgeous.
