This is a relatively new hotel and everything is well thought out and comfortable. The room was big and bright. The pool is enormous with plenty of seating around it. The location is very convenient for the town as it’s right on the doorstep. Breakfast was fabulous. The staff are helpful and polite. It has a great gym but unfortunately we didn’t have the time to use it.

The view from my room was simply amazing, overlooking a beautiful garden. The room was clean and tidy, with all the necessary amenities. The service staff were friendly and professional, always ready to assist. The hotel also has a well - equipped fitness center, which is perfect for those who like to stay active during their travels.

Sofitel Luang Prabang is gevestigd in een voormalig Frans koloniaal fort op een historische locatie in de voormalige koninklijke hoofdstad van Laos. We traveled as a family of three to Luang Prabang. After reviewing many websites and reviews, we settled for Sofitel. It looks really good in pictures. Of course it raised our expectations. Until we arrived, I can only say "WOW". It not only look exactly like the photos but exceed them. It is really like an oasis in this charming city. Although it was slightly off the main attractions, but walkable distance, the advantage is it is really quiet from all the chaos and noises and you can really relax and just spend a day at the pool. I especially like the landscape within the courtyard. My daughter absolutely enjoyed the daily feeding and playing with the rabbits in the garden area. My dad liked to sit at the open restaurant and enjoy reading the news. I think all ages can find a lovely spot to enjoy. The stuff are very friendly and after five nights, we became friends! I especially want to thanks Te's team, Vard, Leng, Noudy, Yai for hosting and giving us valuable suggestions during our local itinerary planning. Also the restaurant team for catering all our special needs.

Timeless elegance and breathtaking views of Mount Phousi—La Résidence Phou Vao is Luang Prabang’s most serene and storied royal retreat. The hotel is located on top of a hill overlooking Luang Prabang and used to be owned by the Lao Royal Family. It is beautifully laid out and furnished. The infinity pool in the centre overlooking the hills and then the large dining room, bar and reception area is amazing. Our room was very spacious with a large outdoor space for reading and enjoying the beautiful view. The bed was incredibly comfortable and d the lounge and bathroom area very large and comfortable. However incredible the property itself is , and it really is, it is over-shadowed by the team that run the hotel and work there. Everyone we met was warm, kind and genuinely thoughtful. This was a big expense for us for our 20th wedding anniversary so all of the optional tours and experiences were tricky for us to afford but we never felt at all pressured to spend money. Only given great advice and really taken care of. The team were very open and all talked to us about their lives in Laos so gave us a broader understanding of the country we were visiting. Finally - I need to mention the food. We love good food and are lucky to live in Japan so eat a lot of very good food. The restaurant at Residence Phou Vau is exceptional. Everything we eat was made with the highest quality fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. I tried to exercise every day so that I could eat more ;-)

We ordered the Laos brekfast baguette and the teriyaki steak baguette from the Ateiler restaurant for lunch and it was 10/10 chefs kiss. Free shuttle to the town was so handy.
