There is a spa room and two restaurants at the property. Everything was great. The rooms (garden room) are spacious and nice, with great terrace and comfortable beds. There are fresh flowers in room. Fruits and water are waiting for the guests. There is a nespresso coffee machine with daily filled capsules. The hotel surronding (garden) is absolutely beautiful. We have received sweets for Easter and there was a chocolate egg hunt for children. Both pools are great with heated water. Food was delicious. Staff is great, very helpful and welcoming. First hotel I want to revisit!

Casa Velha do Palheiro Relais & Chateaux is a 5-star manor house hotel situated in the old Palheiro Gardens in the foothills of Funchal. With access to the Palheiro Golf Course, guests can also have various golfing discounts. We loved the hotel’s rural setting, high above Funchal, its old world luxury, and the quality of service offered by the staff. Best of all was the direct access to the extraordinary adjacent Palheiro garden. A very special hotel.
