Higher ones could have a castle or lake view. - amazing breakfast buffet, with a lot of local specialties (Izumo soba, zenzai…) - within walking distance of the castle and historical houses.

Clean, quiet, great food, staff very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable, I loved the onsen in our room, and the self grinding coffee was excellent, beautifully decorated.

RITA Izumo Hirata ligt in Izumo, op 14 minuten lopen van Hirata Honjin Memorial Museum en 11 km van Gakuen-ji Temple. My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at RITA Izumo Hirata. The property is managed by a lovely and kind husband and wife team who did everything to make our stay memorable. The included high quality Japanese breakfast was both fresh and delicious. Make sure to take up the Italian dinner option in a local restaurant. It was one of the best meals of our holiday!

This was our fourth trip to Japan and we've stayed in many ryokans. This is one of our favorites. The space we stayed at was huge. It was a two-story stand alone building. The seats looked out onto the courtyard with a pond and a lot of trees, which was very peaceful. I'm usually not the type to stay in my hotel/ryokan all day, but this place tempted me to do so due to the serenity of the courtyard. There were two private onsen that were easy to access due to the small number of guests that stay here. The food was fabulous. While walking around one morning I found a hiking trail that led up to castle ruins. The next morning I hiked up to the ruins and down the other side and came out near the Moss Land.

Saginoyusou is gelegen op 24 km van Shinji-meer en 27 km van Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum, en biedt kamers in Yasugi. My first 10 rating. Our room was fantastic, with a large sitting area, separate sleeping area with comfortable beds and private outdoor onsen. Staff were uniformly friendly, helpful and polite. Our meals were excellent and very filling. Each large window in our room looked out on different areas of an impeccably designed garden. We are already planning our next visit.

Oyado Tsukiyo no Usagi biedt 4-sterrenaccommodatie is gelegen in Izumo, op 2,3 km van Inasa Beach en 5 minuten lopen van Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo. Definitely one of my favorite places I stayed this summer in Japan. I arrived just in time for their buffet dinner and was able to purchase it through them at the hotel. It was high level with snow crab, prime cuts of beef and just an incredible array of Japanese local dishes as well as a few Western ones. The chefs were there cooking it on the spot. Best meal in Japan. They have private Onsen rooms as well, each with its own unique tub and minerals in the water. I also love how close it was to Izumo temple and also just a short walk from the station.
