I was originally interested in this hotel because I read that the Onsen had a Museum full of Kishio Suga's work. I had been following this amazing Japanese artist for a number of years... so that fact was a deciding factor for me. But, the Onsen, the staff, the care that we felt they put into everything they did, the atmosphere of the place, the gardens also designed by Kishio Suga, the delightful guests we had the pleasure of meeting, our room and the food we were served - and let's not forget the tour of the museum! - made me love this place. Itamuro Onsen Daikokuya has history. Someone told us that the Onsen was 500 years old. Most of the Japanese guests we met there went to purely relax. The kind and capable staff take amazing care of all the guests: A Japanese friend in Tokyo told me I should celebrate the Winter Solstice while I was in Nasushiobara. She explained that on that one day, it had always been traditionally celebrated by putting YUZU fruit in Japanese baths and eating something made of pumpkin. I asked the hotel about all this. I really don't think it was part of their plan... but, they did it all: the YUZU in the baths and the specially prepared Pumpkin desserts. It was all to please us, their guests, and make sure our stay was perfect. I was so grateful and felt so pampered and happy. I enjoyed that fruit in the Japanese bath more than you can imagine. So, If you want to relax in a beautiful Onsen with history, go see great art at the. Suga museum, to have a beautiful experience,and be pampered in a very Japanese sort of way...you must come to Itamuro Onsen Daikokuya.

Established in 1666, Honke Bankyu is housed in a registered historical building. The Japanese rooms feature traditional decor, futon bedding and a flat-screen TV. The whole experience was exceptional, the food magnificent, I would definitely recommend it and stay there again

奥日光湯元温泉ゆの森 ligt in Nikko, op 14 km van Kegon-watervallen en 29 km van schrijn Nikko Toshogu, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en gratis privéparkeren.... Beautiful location. Excellent staff and service. In room onsen was fantastic.

Located about 25 Minutes by foot in the hills across the shrines overlooking inari River, absolutely quiet. A Shuttle picks up and drops off (do Not Let the rather harsh Tone of the Emails concerning early checkin (extra cost) Irritate you - that is probably die to the poor English); if you Are staying for more than one Night, they ask you Several times when and how they could Transport you to town etc. Recommend at least two Nights so you can enjoy the Room, the food, the Drinks, the music, the atmosphere. Rooms very spacious; the huge Window is fantastic (and Not cold surprisingly, so Sitting in Front sipping Tea or freshly brewed coffee is a treat Even when cold outside). Free bathtub plus shower (separate). Very stylish and comfortable. Huge bed, rather soft (by japanese standards). The decoration addresses European style luxury travellers, but obviously the japanese guests appreciate it, too. Two floors of rooms. The Lobby downstairs is also the dining Room. Free sparkling wine (very good!) and drinks from 5-6. during dinner, they Play music/videos to the guests‘ wishes. A absolute marvel is the food- do Not know where they found this Cook. Mixture of japanese and french Cuisine at its best. Very Tasty, very elegant Concept of five or six courses; breakfast on a tray with all you could ask for. The Bread (Three different kinds to three courses at Dinner, two different kinds for breakfast and no repetition) is superb and of the finest Kind! Strongly recommend to opt for the breakfast and dinner included plan! (Especially since all other options are in town). The interior speaks of the owner - a marketing Specialist who has a Vision. Very remarkable is the - abundant- staff. Extremely Super Polite (Even by japanese standards)and attentive (e.g. dried and cleaned our Shoes as a Service after we had taken a hike into the Woods during rain), very sweet and engaged. English is little present but the kindness makes up for that completely.

Iwaiyado Jyuan Nikko Kawaji onsen ligt in Nikko, op 29 km van station Tobu Nikko en 30 km van Treinstation Nikko, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. We loved our stay at this charming ryokan. The rooms were spacious and the meals were delicious with plenty of variety and a lovely exposure to local cuisine. Most of the staff spoke English and made many helpful suggestions for what we should see in the area (including arranging for a private hire of a taxi for the day which let us see a lot more int he area in the time we had available).

Nanaeyae is aantrekkelijk gelegen in de wijk Kinugawa Onsen in Nikko, en ligt op 22 km van Treinstation Nikko, 25 km van schrijn Nikko Toshogu en 41 km van Kegon-watervallen. The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were clearly the highlight of the stay. They might arguably have been worth the entire cost of the stay, and make the ryokan itself a destination for a quick trip from Tokyo. The setting is beautiful, looking down over a rushing mountain river. The staff were attentive and seemed to be genuinely sweet and caring people.

Kinugawa Grand Hotel Yumenotoki is gelegen in Nikko, op 20 km van station Tobu Nikko, en biedt accommodatie met een fitnesscentrum, gratis privéparkeren, een tuin en een terras. EVERYTHING!!!! The hotel is stunning! The service was wonderful. The food was amazing (we eat Kosher and no raw fish) and we booked it 2 months in advance after another ryokan couldn't prepare food for us even tho they said they could, and immidiately I;ve got a reply to my request with questions and a will to accomodate us and we really apriciate it. The onsen was a dream (especcially the outdoor one). Our friend had to live after one night in instead of 2 and the person who did our check in was nice and suggested to give her some refund wvwn tho it was same day notice. Will definitly come back again if we have the chance and will recommed it to everyone weknow :)
