The host was fantastic, so friendly, professional and helpful. The shelters are located right at the centre of plenty of hiking trails. Very peaceful. The shelter was very clean, cosy and modern. A 10/10 restaurant/bar is located a short walk from the accommodation with delicious food and drink, suitable for breakfast lunch and an evening meal.

The surroundings and accommodation were simply breathtaking. Dioclécio, the host, was extremely friendly and always concerned about our well-being. A special highlight were the cute donkeys that we immediately fell in love with. We would come back at any time.

Lovely cabin surrounded by mountain views, we saw so many stars at night. There's a great place to eat and drink (O Barracão), just 10 mins walk from the cabin, and it's only 20 minutes drive from Funchal (we had a rental car, but I believe there's a bus stop nearby too). It felt like a little home away from home, bed was very comfortable, shower was excellent and the little kitchenette had a stove top, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and fridge. Our host was wonderful, very welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations. I would definitely stay here again!

WOW! Beautiful modern wooden cabin in the middle of nowhere. Such a peaceful location, but not too far from Funchal if you want to get down (20-25 mins in a taxi) A range of lovely walks from the front door. Amazing shower. Able to stargaze at night. There’s a fantastic ‘snack bar’ just a few mins walk away with super friendly staff and a range of amazing poncha flavours. We can’t wait to go back next year!

Beautiful and peaceful retreat up in the mountains. Lovely, well equipped cabins. Everything worked well and was very tidy. Calm relaxing athmosphere, only the sounds of nature around you. Great walking trails leaving just outside the cabin. Would have loved to stay longer. No complaints. Extremely kind and helpful host. Big recommendation. Thank you!
