Wonderful breakfast. rooms are big enough and modern. The hotel is walking distance from the city center. staff are so nice and the balcony is one of the best we have been. We did not want to leave the hotel! will definitely come back.

Dit prachtige Victoriaanse huis ligt op een rustige locatie tussen Windermere en Bowness, op slechts 1,6 km van het meer Windermere. Heel vriendelijk personeel en ze maakten een heerlijk ontbijt iedere ochtend.

Cumberland House ligt in Cockermouth, op 22 km van Derwentwater en 46 km van Wasdale, in een omgeving waar je kunt fietsen. The location was great. Right in the middle of town, was a great base. The whole House presented excellent very new and fresh. A large residence with plenty of room. We stayed as a family of five , but I could see it bringing comfortable for more people. The touches of family friendly games were adored by my children. A full size Washing Maxhine with a separate dryer is a great addition. Combo washer/dryers are ok but seem to take a lot longer. We had an issue with transport and ended up arriving quite late. Which I am now disappointed I did not get the full experience. NOTE: We arrived almost 7 hours after our scheduled check in. The host was exceptional in accommodating our late arrival. I cannot praise Gillian enough.
