Breb is such a special place.. and this is a lovely pensiunea! The owners are a family and I met Mom, Grandma, and the two daughters, one of whom is Teodora. She is the one after whom the pensiunea is named. I opted for room and board ... and they surely kept me well-fed! They also offered my palinka which I could only take in small doses for that is some strong stuff! I wanted a central location to visit this part of Maramures, for there are a number of historic wooden churches in the area and I was lucky enough to meet Father Steffan, who was from the Ieud parish. He got the keys and allowed me inside the wooden church in Manastirea, which is not all that far from Breb so I could peek at the exquisite interior. In any case, there are a lot of picturesque villages and sights in and around Breb.. and Breb itself is a great place to stoll and see traditional ways being lived out every day. And the family at Pensiunea Teodora was so kind and generous. Thank you so much!

Our hosts were so welcoming and friendly from the first moment we arrived. We arrive by car and had a place to park. They met us in the driveway with a welcome drink of the honrnica brandy that they brew. The last part of the road to their house is gravel, but fine for our little car. The room was very clean, and had beautiful, traditional decorations on the walls. We had a small balcony with a pleasant view. I liked that the bedroom had bedside lights for reading at night, and better ambiance. I also appreciated the extra pillows. (thank you). They had some sweet family wedding pictures in the hall way that I enjoyed looking at. Everything was homey and sweet. We chose to have breakfast and dinner for several of the days we were there, and be prepared.... it is a lot of food. Each day, Iliana (I hope I spelled it right) made a wide array of foods. For breakfast, there were eggs, variety of meats, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, two kinds of cheeses, bread, butter, jams, tea, coffee, fresh milk....My husband especially, loved the honey which was fresh and local. Dinner was huge as well, starting with amazing soup, bread, and then came the second course, and then dessert. It was evident that everything was prepared with love. We very much enjoyed our stay with this family. We loved meeting them all. Though our hosts did not speak english, their son in law, who manages the booking, does. We got along just fine, either with the help of the son-in-law, or using google translate. It was nice to meet him and his wife as well! The grandmother was also very kind, and showed us around the property. Their hospitality and warmth were the highlight of our month long trip to Romania. The village of Breb is a very special place. Thank you.

The sights were gorgeous, the buildings were rustic and traditional to the point where you felt transported back into the past. The staff were great, super helpful, even if it seemed they were a little understaffed and overwhelmed by the amount of people, and the food was FANTASTIC. The atmosphere was amazing and cozy, with traditional music and the staff dressed in traditional clothes. Oh yeah and there's like 3 or 4 cats, which is amazing if you're an animal lover because they're so used to humans, they're cuddly, want pets all the time, and they're comfortable just lounging in the middle of the room.

Fantastic hosts, welcoming, multilingual and providing excellent service. Located in a traditional house, our room was big, nicely decorated with local furniture and embroidery. The room was very clean and comfortable. The guesthouse is well located and silent at night. The host cooks very well. Both diner and breakfast were homemade with local products and delicious. Our best stay in Romania.

The property was clean and quiet, the air is very fresh and clean and if you open the window you can hear the river wich is awesome and relaxing. The host was more then nice and friendly. I will come again for sure
