Refúgio Samauma heeft een tuin, een privéstrand, een restaurant en een bar in Manaus. We stayed at the Samauma Refuge with our family in the second week of August. We had a late flight from Rio and didn't arrive in Manaus until around 1 a.m. Lucas had no problem picking us up from the port of Manaus and sailing us through the dark to Samauma. It wasn't until the morning that we realized what a wonderful place it was. Every day breakfast included fruit, bread, and eggs, and the most delicious lunches with fresh fish. Lucas has lived here for eight years, and it clearly shows. He can arrange everything and is happy to do so, from excursions to delicious cocktails in the hammock. We enjoyed the Amazon, and perhaps most of all, bingo night in the village across from the refuge. We highly recommend this location and hope to stay there again soon. Thanks, Lucas!

Vista do Lago Jungle Lodge heeft een buitenzwembad, een tuin, een restaurant en een bar in Cajual. What a fantastic time we had staying at the lodge. We hired a brilliant English speaking guide and a boat pilot for the week through the lodge (additional to the accommodation costs) and they organised an itinerary to tour the local area and beyond. The food was great and varied (beef/chicken/pork/fish etc), including local fish that we caught in the day. It was amazing to live in the riverside community if only for a week, and we hope to come back in the wet season when the water is higher and the landscape has changed.

The hotel and its surroundings are fantastically beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable, if a little basic and the outdoor spaces around the rooms are great. There isn't really a restaurant per se, but there are a number of places around the property where you can have breakfast and dinner and the food is excellent. There is not a big selection of drinks, especially alcohol. If there are particular drinks you like, even beer or wine or any hard booze other than capirxhinas, you need to bring your own. But the juices provided were fresh and there is plentiful bottled water. The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful - although other than our guide who the hotel found for us, hardly anyone speaks anything other than Portuguese. The hotel offers a number of tours and the ones that are in the vicinity of the hotel are fun and interesting and easy. (See below for the only problem regarding this.) Paddling around in a canoe through the surrounding watery passageways through the jungle was great and our guide, Daniel, was incredibly knowledgeable about everything we were seeing and hearing.
