峠のお宿 巧の実家 Magome Guest House, Along the Nakasendo Trail ligger i Magome-distriktet i Nakatsugawa, tæt på Magome Observatory. Her er en terrasse og vaskemaskine. The place was great and just on the trail. The host was also great. Since the place was far from the train station, he came to pick us up to the train station, drove us to the place to drop luggage and then drop us in the center of town. Also, since it is not easy to get a taxi, he came to pick up us to the restaurant after dinner. Also, the host provided us with some breakfast (coffee, break, milk, bananas, ...) so we could eat something before start walking the trail.

Tsuki-Akari Takayama - Japanese Traditional House with Open-air Bath ligger lige i hjertet af Takayama, 3,6 km fra Hida Folk Village og 49 km fra Gero Station. Her er en gårdhave og gratis wi-fi. Great location a brief walk to one of the Takayama markets. Convenient parking, a great layout and the open air bath was stellar. Excellent host, great location and a one of my favorite stays in my last trip to Japan.

We arrived after our chilly hike along the trail to a very warm and inviting traditional home. It was stocked with tea, coffee and drinks in the fridge, as well as some snacks. There were so many different areas to sit and relax in the home, we felt soo welcome and at home we did not want to leave. This was a stark contrast to our Air bnb we had in Kyoto where we felt we could not relax or enjoy the property. The sleepy town was fun to explore, the cafe next door was also very warm and welcoming filled with music and warmth. And the beds!! Being 6 months pregnant I was a little worried about the traditional futons on the floor but it was the best sleep I has the whole 3 weeks in Japan. I also appreciated the number of chairs for me to sit in. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay, we wish we could have stayed longer.

This house was absolutely wonderful and had everything we could possibly need for a fantastic stay. It was fully equipped, including ample parking and a great kitchen, plus two cozy bedrooms. What made the experience truly special was the traditional Japanese style of the house, where we slept comfortably on authentic futon beds. We especially loved the outdoor space, which had tables equipped with a built-in BBQ, similar to what you find in some restaurants in Japan. One evening, we bought meat and prepared a wonderful family dinner right there. Although we didn't meet the owner in person, their communication and helpfulness were truly outstanding. They were a wonderful host and even went above and beyond by sending us a medicine we had accidentally left behind. We wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment: This place is simply perfect! We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and comfortable Japanese getaway.

飛騨高山浮世絵INN画侖 ligger i lige i hjertet af Takayama og har et boblebad. Dette feriehus ligger 2,7 km fra Hida Folk Village og 48 km fra Gero Station. It feels like being in a gallery. A very exceptional and unique experience, a highlight in our stay in Takayama.

Souwaan har gratis wi-fi og ligger i centrum af Takayama, 7 minutters gang fra Takayama Station og 2,8 km fra Hida Folk Village. The house is one of the traditional houses in the town. It is extremely comfortable, lovely futon beds, a great shower, separate toilets, air con. We had a memorable stay and I would highly recommend. The owner also let us keep our luggage in the lobby after check out while we went to a cookery class.

Yoshiki Stay ligger 15 km fra Takayama Station. Overnatningsstedet har gratis wi-fi og gratis privat parkering. Furukawa is a beautiful village in the mountain, the house was awesome, typically traditional Japanese house, absolutely beautiful, the owner is very nice and as always exceptional Japanese hospitality make this place a place to go.

Hida is a magical little town and this lovely apartment is the perfect base. It is situated along the canal, beautifully designed with traditional decor and modern amenities. A gorgeous breakfast is delivered each day, and the host is more than generous with helpful advice and special treats. We didn’t want to leave!
