It was a wonderful experience, coming to Mr. Hiro's house. The accommodation was clean, beautiful, traditional, the conversation with the owner was very pleasant. I slept wonderfully there. I will always return to this place in my thoughts. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. And as a bonus, there is excellent and tasty drinking water. If you are thinking about where to stay in Japan, this is the right choice. Just don't make the same mistake I did. We were only for one night. We have to come back here for at least 3 nights.

Guesthouse Imaichi ゲストハウス今市マチナカ ligger i Nikko, 7,7 km fra Nikko Station og 8,1 km fra Tōbu Nikkō Station. Værelserne har aircondition og et fælles badeværelse. We were in the private room, which was very nicely furnished and had everything you need. It had functional lamps with different light settings, a wide wardrobe with space for luggages, and multiple plugs for charging devices. The beds were SO comfy and the duvet was so fluffy it felt like being in a cloud. The guesthouse had everything you need, in the kitchen there is equipment to cook and the owner has thought about every small detail about what you may possibly need! The shared toilet and showers were very clean. Location wise it is only 1 stop away from the main Nikko center, so in 10 min you arrive to Tobu Nikko station from where you can start exploring the UNESCO site or take busses to natural excursions. I would totally recommend!

Our hostess was very attentive and thoroughly gave us a walk-through of the place and available amenities. She was even so kind as to prepare us breakfast free of charge and even gave us a ride to the train station.

Okunikko Guesthouse JUN ligger i Nikko, 12 minutters gang fra Kegon-vandfaldene og 16 km fra Nikko Toshogu-helligdommen. We enjoyed are stay a lot! Takeru is absolutely the best, he gave us the best recommendations and was very nice. The hostel was very clean and cozy and the bed was comfortable. If we are in the area again we'll definitely come back.

Located in Nikko, 2.1 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Sanga Nikko provides rooms with free WiFi access. The property is set 10 km from Kegon Falls and 22 km from Nikkō-kokuritsu-kōen. The gentleman managing this facility is truly the ideal host. He was extremely helpful from the very beginning, providing us with suggestions on what to do. He had ready-printed instructions for each activity, which were extremely handy. Complimentary coffee, tea, and bananas are offered every morning. He even bought us sweets! Lastly, he has a small professional studio, and if you are interested, he will take and print out a picture for you for free. The location is very close to Tobu Station, where the bus hub and many rental car agencies are present. We went by bus for hiking but chose to rent a car on a rainy day. I can't recommend this place enough. One of the best experiences in Japan.

The tatami mat rooms, sliding doors, and futons were beautiful and extremely comfortable. The kotatsu was an amazing and relaxing place to sit after long days of hiking. Masayuki, our host, was extremely kind and accommodating, and was able to recommend great and safe hikes in the area, and very kindly looked after us. The upper story of the house where we stayed had such a traditional and nostalgic feel, and also had a full kitchen which allowed us to cook meals at home, and enjoy the beautiful space. Everyday our host would give us fresh strawberries and spend time chatting with us about art, the town, and local culture. It is also within walking distance to a local hotel onsen, which was a large part of our nightly routine while staying.
