If you come to this hidden part of the world, it is a must to visit the jungle, to visit communities there. You will get all the help from the staff. Rely on their advice, take their tours, they are well organised, it will be a memory for all your life. If you are solo, the several day tours are not cheap, but affordable. This is why you are there. You will get good advice and help regarding crossing the border to Peru, regarding the slow and fast boats going to Iquitos. All the information is correct you get. The hostel is clean, the breakfast is excellent.

Everyone was really nice and helpful and the staff spoke some English. I made the mistake of leaving here to go to a supposedly 4* on vacation hotel, which was terrible.

It's in the village of San Martin, gives you a more local insight. Very friendly staff, they organize tours in the surroundings and activities in the village. They offer meals too. Would recommend!
