Beautiful town and hostel. The vibe of this place is amazing, very cozy and homy, and the building is a very well preserved historical building. It has great installations and common áreas, the bed was also really comfy and everything was clean. They even offer a special price for the local onsen (wich I also recommend) and a welcome drink (I recommend the homemade plum sake). The hosts were incredibly friendly and they speak english.
The breakfast was also really good!
I only wished I could have stayed longer!!

Best hostel during my stay in Japan. Awesome staff with personality, and they made my stay here special. Playing songs, free walking tours and top level customer service. Very clean and I just loved the countryside feeling this place had. The rooms were more spacious than expected. Free onsen! Tasty and traditional breakfast (not included in the price). Free shuttle service back to the train station in the morning.

The beds were comfortable, and the hostel had good facilities, including a common room, although I didn't use them very much.
The hostel is in a good location for a lot of Onsen and the hot springs.

It feels like home. You get everything there. Clean room and toilets. There is no separate shower but there are a few in the onsen room. The onsen for male and female are entirely separate. The entrance has a separate door so the safety is guaranteed.
Dinner and stargazing are excellent. The owner gives you a lift to the train station at 8:20 and 9:20 every day.

The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. Me and my wife absolutely loved staying at this traditional Japanese house. And although traditional, the house is very well renovated, comfortable, and clean. The room was cosy, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. I intend to return to Taketa while travelling around Kyushu and I will definitely stay again at this Hostel Cue!
The location was really great and I felt very safe staying in a mixed dorm as a woman travelling on my own. The beds were comfy, and it was great to be able to leave my bags in the hostel after I checked out until I caught my bus that evening. The wifi was strong and overall it was a good stay! Will definitely stay here on future trips to Beppu.

I don’t usually stay at backpackers but really enjoyed my time here. The host was friendly, informative and helpful and the facilities were clean and well organised with water, provisions etc. I look forward to staying here again one day.
