I was in Colombo before and went to Negombo because its a nice place very near the airport. There were certain options to go to, curlys hostel was one of the cheapest in my case. I booked for 3 days and stayed at least 11 days because the room was perfect with a very comfortable bed (I was the only visitor for 8 days) and AC in a cozy house with everything I needed. Curly is a superb host, also the employeed house maker called aunty, the hostel got cleaned every day and the food was delicious. Drank also 'Old Arrack' from Rockland with ice there, can very recommend that spirit

Area is safe and the hostel is very clean and social. I'm definitely going to be back :)

The owner / managers were super friendly and extremely helpful I was able to hangout in the common area with beanbags with a cute pup until my 23:00 flight departure. Refillable drinking water, great AC, comfortable beds and kitchen to use if needed. Great spot before heading to the airport (tuktuk is only 800 and 30min drive)
