The rooms can accommodate up to three guests each.  🇬🇧 Historical Overview of the Pllakë Neighborhood – Gjirokastër The Pllakë neighborhood is one of the oldest traditional quarters of Gjirokastër, located within the historic old town and closely connected to the famous Old Bazaar. Its name derives from the stone “pllaka” (slabs) and the characteristic cobblestone streets that define the area. 🕰️ Early Origins The area has been inhabited for centuries and developed alongside the early stone houses that later shaped Gjirokastër’s unique architectural style. Its narrow, stone-paved streets once served as important pathways linking the upper neighborhoods with the marketplace. 🏘️ 17th–19th Century Development During the expansion of the Old Bazaar in the 17th and 18th centuries, Pllakë became a well-established residential area. Traditional stone tower houses were built here, featuring stone façades, wooden windows, and characteristic slate roofs.
