Our property, Chanticleer Gardens is a beautiful 5 acre English styled country garden with the main residence situated at the front of the gated estate and the cottage at the rear. As you enter the property through the wrought iron gates, follow the tree lined avenue past the Australian Colonel homestead along the track to the rear of the property. Please park on the lawn area at the cottage gate. A conversion of the original Barn into a very stylish Hamptons cottage allows its usage not only for accommodation but as a small venue for weddings and other social occasions, such as bridal showers, girls' weekends away, birthday parties and the "first look" pre wedding bridal party. Any hire of the cottage for these occasions are at an extra cost over and above the Booking com platform hire rate and must be arranged with the owners before booking the accommodation. Booking the cottage for accommodation only allows 6 people onto the property and up to no visitors without permission. We allow pets with hire of the Rose Cottage but there is a surcharge of thirty dollars for each dog. The Cockatoo Suite is not suitable for any pet. We are in the process of acquiring council approval to host functions and weddings for up to 70-80pp.
My husband and I are keen hobbyist gardeners and we commenced work on Chanticleer Gardens after purchasing the property in 2003. It was an alpaca farm although the barn was never used for that. The English styled garden is now matured and has been opened for many open garden events and showcased in different magazines as well as filmed on location for different episodes of Bachelor, Better Homes and Gardens and recently "my Mum, Your Dad' reality dating show. We decided 4 years ago to convert the Barn into a cottage with the concept of hosting small weddings. Seating of up to 70 pp is on the rear covered verandah overlooking the gardens. Different aspects of the garden garden rooms are used for wedding ceremonies and other social occasions. On one side of the Barn/cottage we have kept the barn doors and this become the features of The Elm Tree Avenue with its clipped box hedges and is a favourite place for photoshoots and wedding ceremonies. We are limited in our capacity for bookings for weddings and will only accept bookings for ceremony and reception with accommodation or reception and accommodation. We are a beautiful venue for a small intimate wedding function.
Arcadia, one of Sydneys' northwestern rural districts is made up of country acreage lifestyle properties and is home to various rural activities, such as horse riding and the Golden Ridge animal farm. Not far from the Berowra Waters inlet and within easy access of 15 different eateries, its a delightful escape from city life yet only 20 minutes off the M2 freeway. Fagan park, great for picnicking, bike trails and walks is only 3 minutes away. Galston and Glenorie villages, 5 minutes drive for those food necessities with Dural, a 10 minute drive to more eateries. This is the place to come for the country get-away without the drive.
