Meet Your Hosts – Monica & Hector! Hi there! We’re Monica and Hector, your hosts at Aperture. Our journey started in 2012 when we moved from Colombia to Tasmania, looking for a better future for our son and new opportunities for ourselves. This beautiful island quickly became home, and we’ve loved every moment of our adventure here. We’ve been in tourism and hospitality since the very beginning, starting out as housekeepers and hosts in 2012. Over the years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to creating welcoming, comfortable stays for guests just like you. We now have the privilege of managing Aperture on behalf of the owners, making sure everything is perfect for your visit. For us, hosting with purpose means going beyond just providing a place to stay—we genuinely care about your experience and want you to feel at home. Bruny Island is a friendly small community of around 700. It often has social events and is a favourite for tourists. The friday night chook raffle at the pub is a great way to meet a few members of the community.
