Lake Tinaroo is very popular for wake boarding, skiing, fishing and any other water activities you can think of. The picturesque village of Yungaburra is surrounded by countryside which has been influenced and shaped by many, now extinct, volcanoes. The landscape is stunning, with outstandingly beautiful natural attractions: crater lakes, waterfalls and World Heritage Rain Forest (The curtain fig tree) and crystal clear lakes to swim in. All just within a short few minutes drive. This ideal holiday destination is cooler than the coastal area during summer, and in winter the mild days and refreshing nights are an excuse to enjoy a crackling log fire. The area is also known for its great mountain biking tracks (single and duel suspension mountain bikes available for hire), wildlife, like the tree kangaroos or platypus. We encourage you to take the canoes out early in the morning or in the afternoon, with a near 100% chance of spotting these amazing creatures.
