The location is another highlight: our apartment is situated in Freiburg-Vauban, in the heart of the Black Forest – one of the most sustainable and green neighborhoods in Germany. Here you’ll find tree-lined streets, eco-friendly architecture, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Within just a few minutes’ walk you can reach supermarkets, organic shops like Alnatura, cafés, restaurants, and even a shopping center. Public transport is excellent – the tram stop is nearby, making it easy to reach the old town, the university district, or go hiking straight into the Black Forest. For those arriving by car, parking is available on request (with certain size restrictions), but most guests love the convenience of exploring Freiburg on foot or by tram. We are a family with two children and have been living in Freiburg for several years now. We truly enjoy life here and love to share this with our guests. Freiburg is incredibly diverse – from cozy cafés and vibrant bars to lively clubs and unique local spots. One of our favorite things is relaxing by the river Dreisam and enjoying the sunshine. From here, you can easily explore both the local neighborhood and Freiburg’s most famous attractions. What guests enjoy most in the area Just a few minutes’ walk away you’ll find supermarkets, organic shops like Alnatura, and plenty of cafés and bakeries to enjoy your morning coffee. The tram stop is nearby, giving you quick access to Freiburg’s historic old town in less than 10 minutes. The Vauban district itself is known for its sustainable lifestyle and cozy local bars and restaurants that reflect the city’s youthful, creative vibe. Museums & culture Freiburg offers a range of cultural highlights: the Augustiner Museum with its impressive medieval art, the Museum of Modern Art for contemporary exhibitions, and the Colombischlössle Archaeological Museum. All are within easy reach by tram. Restaurants & local food Food lovers will enjoy Freiburg’s culinary variety.
