El Antiguo Juzgado is one of the distinguishing landmarks of Jimena de la Frontera, sitting on the main Plaza, and adjacent to the car park. The house offers the discerning visitor a unique opportunity to feel and share the history of Jimena through this most distinctive of buildings, which amongst other uses was once a convent of capuchin nuns. Please note we have a minimum stay of two nights. The house dates back to 1738 and possible earlier. It is built on three levels complete with traditional Andaluz tower. Guest accommodation comprises three self-contained self catering, two room suites. A bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a living room with kichenette area. The centre apartment has its own balcony. On the ground floor the is also a double room with two single beds which is equipped with a fridge, electric toaster and kettle. The tower at the top of the house offers visitors 360 degrees of uninterrupted views of the Ronda hills, the Roman castle and Hozgarganta Valley, besides Gibraltar on a clear day, and is ideal for the painter and photographer. The central patio is a communal area containing tables for outside dining if guests wish to make use of it. To the rear is the pool, for guests use only.

Monica and Peter are two retired but very active musicians / teachers, who settled in Jimena after varied careers teaching and playing in the UK and international schools in the Middle East and China. Monica is a pianist and singer, Peter, a multi-instrumental woodwind specialist. We love hosting guests for the variety of interesting friendly people we get to meet.

Jimena is a 'Pueblo Blanco' on the edge of the Alcornacales Natural Park. It is an area of great natural beauty, with a variety of wild life and terrain. As such it attracts naturalists, particularly birders, and hikers all year round. We regularly see Griffon vulture, Booted Eagle and lesser Kestrels in the skies above our house and there are many other interesting species in the area including a number of owls, Short toed Eagle and others less common. We are situated in the centre of the pueblo is a well appointed pedestrianised street with easy access to bars, restaurants and shops for buying comestibles.
