This flat is the reflection of many life experiences. My husband and I planned a surprise visit to Nerja back in 1995 for my parents Muriel and Michael, knowing this was "their" place. Not unsurprisingly they fell immediately in love with with little costal fishing town at the foot of mountains. They later found this little apartment overlooking the sea and buying "El Chaparil 2.8" was the first mayor step to us being together as much as possible after my settling down in Spain. Indeed we have enjoyed so many moments at our beautiful holiday home here in Nerja. Now long retired, Muriel and Michael continue to come to visit, but I am now looking after our home, making sure it remains as cared for as it has always been and simply it has become a place that they, us and now you are invited to visit in the hope that it will provide you with as many happy moments as it has given to us over the years. It is too beautiful not be be shared with others that feel drawn to the magic of listening to the waves as they break onto the sands while lying in bed at night, falling softly asleep to their enchantment. I have been living for half my life in this county that I now consider my own. Spain and more specifically Andalucia became my home almost on arrival in Cordoba back in 1989. Andalusia is a delight for the senses. It is all about colour, flavours, textures, vitality that somehow have always made me feel very much alive - and very much on holiday, despite working very hard! Since later marrying my husband in 1995 we have continued to share many happy years based in Cordoba and travelling frequently to Malaga, to our beautiful apartment in Nerja that has been the destination for countless happy family reunions. Our pool was where our son first learned how to swim and he also loves the beach, especially "La Torecilla", just a few minutes walk from our front door. You can see him playing on his first visit to Nerja in one of the photos we have shared. Welcome to our home, now your home too!"
What makes Nerja most special is that is is buzzing with life, while at the same time conserving the quaintness of a small fishing town that invites you to sit back, finding a refreshing rest from hectic city life, where you can simply sit, watch and observe life in the passing of simple moments. There are countless great eating places, many at very affordable prices, except for drinks which generally tend to be more expensive. Despite being a small town, there are ample shopping possibilities and some exquisite boutiques for all tastes. The Balcon the Europa is a must visit, as are the Nerja Caves, just a jew miles out of the centre. The beaches are soft sand and clear water, with easy bathing in summer due to the warm temperatures. Nerja has very easy road access and is a simple bus ride from Malaga. Our end of Nerja is the opposite end to Burriana, furthest to the west and probably the most populated beach, and therefore considerably quieter than the western end.
