Alcalá is a great place to discover the beautiful traditions of the town that gives it its name. Located in the municipality of Guía de Isora, next to Playa San Juan, this grey sand and lapilli beach is next to a small pier with fishing boats and a multitude of water sports. Wonderful local dishes are served in the area, with a wide variety of fresh fish and seafood. Don't miss the spectacle of the sunset overlooking the island of La Gomera. The variety of colours as the sun disappears into the ocean combined with the sea breeze on the promenade make this a truly unforgettable moment. The coastline of Guía de Isora has a beautiful promenade along the Playa de San Juan where you will find an old lime kiln. If you walk along it in the direction of Alcalá, you will discover a series of beautiful coves with black sand beaches and natural rock pools. A good way to end your tour of the municipality is by the sea, wallowing in the sun and warmth of Guía de Isora and enjoying the scenic beauty of its coastline. The municipality of Guía de Isora offers everything the visitor could ask for. Its historic centre is home to beautiful buildings such as the 16th century Church of Nuestra Señora de la Luz. Just outside the centre are two villages that seem to have been trapped in time: Aripe and Chirche. The coast, meanwhile, has wonderful bathing areas and places to spend a day of sun and fun by the sea. Several of these villages are on the coast, such as the fishing village of Playa San Juan, which has become a quiet tourist area.
