In the municipality of Muxika, between the Oiz and Bizkargi mountain ranges, within the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, lies the peaceful neighborhood of Ajuria. A charming village where traditional houses, or baserris in Basque, made of stone, wood, and red tiles blend in perfect harmony with nature. The first time we visited this neighborhood and reached the last house, we fell in love instantly. The feeling of peace and freedom conveyed by the surroundings was overwhelming; an idyllic landscape of lush forests surrounded by mountain ranges where the music of nature rang out and birds danced to the tune. Integrated into this landscape was a dilapidated wood and stone building, devoured by vegetation. And this is where our story began... With enthusiasm and excitement, tenacity and effort, and with the help of family and friends, we carried out the renovation of the farmhouse: faithfully reconstructing the original form and aesthetics, reusing existing materials, such as stone (all the stone is original to the house), improving energy efficiency with renewable energy, until we achieved the result you are now seeing and experiencing. A farmhouse where the interior rooms flow with the exterior spaces, the doors and windows become natural scenes, and the colors of the decor enhance the natural surroundings. A warm and welcoming home surrounded by nature that makes you feel at home. That's how we felt, and we hope you feel it too.

Ajuria is pure mountain, a wonderful enclave with dreamlike views, surrounded 360º by mountains and nature and at the same time close to towns like Gernika and in the middle of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve.
