Suvantokoto is an authentic Lapland kelo log cabin on the peaceful banks of the Kemijoki River, just 15 km from Rovaniemi. The cabin is part of a quiet rural riverside community — you’ll have your own private plot and beautiful views, without feeling isolated or far from services. Inside, you’ll find everything you need for a warm and comfortable stay: a cozy living room with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, and a traditional wood-heated sauna. The cabin has two Lapland-style sleeping rooms, separated but partially open near the ceiling (a traditional design that helps keep the cabin warm in winter), creating a cozy and connected atmosphere for couples and families. Each season brings its own magic here — snowy silence and auroras in winter, midnight sun in summer, the colours of ruska in autumn, and bright spring days by the river.

Built in 1972 by Miikka’s grandfather, the cabin has been carefully maintained by us — Miikka & Sanna — with respect for its original spirit. We live nearby, and we’re happy to help if anything comes up, while still giving you full privacy during your stay. We speak Finnish and English. Once you arrive, the place is entirely yours: a quiet cabin, a wood fire, and the river — simple comforts done well.

The surroundings are peaceful and natural, with forest paths starting almost at the doorstep and the river opening directly from the yard. Many guests use Suvantokoto as a calm base for their own plans — exploring Lapland by day, then returning for slow evenings by the fireplace and the stillness of the river. Although the cabin feels wonderfully quiet, Rovaniemi’s services, restaurants and supermarkets are only a 15–20 minute drive away. The airport is about 25 minutes away and the railway station around 20 minutes, so arrival is easy — while the cabin itself remains tranquil. IG @suvantokoto
