Cozy and atmospheric detached log villa with three bedrooms, located in a peaceful natural setting between Kuusamo town and Ruka Ski Resort. Villa Poronperä offers a calm retreat slightly away from the bustle of Ruka, yet still within a convenient distance of all services and activities. The villa accommodates up to 6 guests in the bedrooms: • Bedroom 1: double bed 180 × 210 cm • Bedroom 2: double bed 180 × 200 cm • Bedroom 3: two single beds 90 × 200 cm All double beds can be separated into single beds upon request. In addition, the loft provides sleeping space for up to 3 guests. Final cleaning, bed linen, and towels are included in the price. The full equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room offer a spacious and comfortable setting for relaxing. A slate stone fireplace adds warmth and atmosphere. The villa includes two separate toilets. The electric sauna with washing room is accessed through a separate dressing room, which opens directly to a covered terrace overlooking a beautiful lake landscape down the slope—perfect for cooling off after a sauna. A warm equipment storage room is located at the entrance, ideal for sports gear. From the villa’s doorstep, guests can access a 4 km ski trail that connects to the wider Kuusamo–Ruka trail network (opens in early springwinter). Excellent opportunities for snowshoeing and hiking. About 1 km away, guests may use forest firepit/lean-to shelter by a clear stream—a wonderful place for campfires. The shoreline is 150 meters away, and a rowing boat is available for guests. In Kuusamo town, the Karhuntassu Visitor Center is also well worth a visit for maps, exhibitions, and local nature tips. That said, the true hidden gems of the area are often found beyond the marked trails. Exploring with a local guide is the best way to discover quiet spots, lesser-known viewpoints, and the authentic nature of Kuusamo and Posio – safely and in a truly local Finnish way.
