Located on the unique natural site of the Basque Corniche in Urrugne, in the heart of 2 hectares of nature overlooking the ocean, Amama Baita (the grandmother's house in Basque) welcomes you for an unforgettable stay. Only a few kilometers from Hendaye beach and the bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, you will enjoy the shade of the estate's century-old oak trees and the magnificent panoramas offered by the mountains and the ocean, while being close to the bustling Basque coast. Thanks to our four private rooms and our dormitory, we will welcome you warmly, whether you are traveling with family, lovers, alone or with friends! You can enjoy the living room of the house, the deck chairs and hammocks in the garden and the fully equipped summer kitchen that we put at your disposal.

Find out.” Mark Twain This has been our motto for 20 years! We have an inexhaustible thirst for nature and adventure! We have traveled the planet, each on our own or together, to walk or live in countries with cultures different from ours. Since 2020, we have been looking for a place to fulfill our dream of one day opening a permaculture farmhouse. It was while getting lost on the Basque Corniche, in the spring of 2021, that we came across Amama Baita by chance. Passionate about the ocean and the mountains, the crush was immediate! The permacole farm-inn will be built little by little, but in the meantime we intend to share with you our house and our passions, our homemade, local and organic breakfasts, our most unusual recommendations on the region and of course our good humor. We want you to feel at Amama Baita at home and that you leave here, no longer as guests but as friends!

From Amama Baita, you have access to many hikes, on foot, by bike or accompanied by our donkeys, on the vast natural space of the Basque Corniche of Urrugne. You can discover its very specific fauna and flora, but also the geological history of the region with its flysch cliffs, book a paramotor flight, go on a tree climbing course, or visit the very original castle of Abbadia. The coastal path, which passes right in front of our entrance gate, will allow the most seasoned walkers to push the walk a little further, to Bidart or San Sebastian in Spain. There are a total of 54 km of marked path along the ocean. 10 minutes by car from Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Hendaye, 20 minutes from Biarritz and San Sebastian (in Spain), you have access to a rich cultural program all year round. Between ocean and mountain, Amama Baita is also the perfect starting point for a large number of outdoor sports, starting of course with surfing and hiking! We will be happy to help you plan your outings. Gourmets will be delighted by visiting the villages of Espelette, Aldudes, Irouléguy, and Banca where they can learn all about peppers, Kintoa pork, regional wines and the famous Basque trout. Finally, for the most festive, you can take advantage all summer long of the many nocturnal activities on the Basque Coast, in particular the traditional patron saint festivals of the surrounding towns and villages.
