The OVO Network team’s opinion - Up to 12 guests (including 10 adults) can stay at Chalet OCimes, which has five bedrooms and six bathrooms spread over two floors. With two terraces, a balcony and a flat garden, its outdoor spaces are a real bonus, especially for a property so close to the centre of Samoëns. The ski slopes are less than 2km away, and in summer there is a water sports centre 3km away. Each of the chalet's five bedrooms has an en-suite bath or shower room. The two seating areas with TVs and the mezzanine allow everyone to do their own thing, without disturbing the rest of the group. The kitchen is well equipped and very practical, with a double oven and plenty of space for preparing your meals. There is also a central island where you can gather for a coffee. One of the highlights of Chalet OCimes is its wellness area, where you can enjoy some well-earned moments of relaxation. It features a sauna, an outdoor hot tub and two showers. The garage has room for one car as well as a charging point for electric vehicles, a ski rack with a heated boot dryer, and a laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Whatever time of year you decide to visit the magnificent Grand Massif and the Giffre Valley, there are always plenty of activities to keep you busy. Samoëns is one of five ski resorts in the Grand Massif area, along with Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. Together, they have 139 pistes and 62 lifts, so there's something for everyone, whatever their age or ability. Samoëns is home to a charming square where you can enjoy a long, lazy lunch in summer, or simply have a coffee and watch the crowds go by. Many skiers also stop in Samoëns for a bite to eat, before heading back up into the mountains. In summer, you can enjoy hiking and cycling in the mountains, as well as water sports on the River Giffre. The riverside Lac aux Dames leisure area is a great day out for families. It has a bathing beach as well as a horse-riding centre, tree-top assault course, Segway, electric skateboards and much more. Youngsters can enjoy the running track, playgrounds, inflatables and trampolines, and trout fishing is free for those staying in the area. The village of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, less than 20 minutes' drive away, is also well worth a visit. It is one of the most beautiful villages in France, set in a natural amphitheatre of high limestone cliffs. It's also the starting point for some superb white-water rafting and a via ferrata course.
