Traditional Perigordian style property originally built in 1832 and retaining many of the original features. Extended in 2004 with the addition of a tower typical of the region resulting in the house as featured here.
Retired to the Dordogne in 2015. Started the B&B this year (2018) as a way of supplementing our pension and as a way of meeting and getting to know new people.
Ideally situated to visit many places of interest including - Chateau de Monbazillac (19km), a 16th century castle surrounded by vineyards producing one of the worlds best desert wines which can be sampled during your visit. See the prehistoric cave painting at Lascaux (92km) discovered in 1940 or visit St Emilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (42km) and sample the wines. Wine has been grown here since the Romans in the second century. If history is your thing go to Castillon-la-Bataille (34km) which was the site of the final battle of the Hundred Years War July 17, 1453, when the French finally defeated the English! Try canoeing on the Dordogne, you can hire a canoe at Gardonne which is only 1.7km away. They offer different trips from 2 to 7 hours in duration and gives you views not available by road!
