L'Ecurie used the the stable for the farm horse back in the day. It's a good sized pretty studio and is one of a cluster of 4 individually styled gites each with its own charm and its own garden. There is a large shared pool, a games barn, bikes and a separate leisure field with boules pitch, football goal and picnic tables. So, plenty of space

Set in a quiet farming hamlet in South West France, surrounded by fields of sunflowers, vines, wheat and maize. We are rural but not remote as we are just 1.5km from the main road, 2.5km from the nearest small town with all amenities and around 10mins drive to J36 of the A10 motorway. The nearest airports are Bordeaux and La Rochelle airports (1 hour). We are well placed to see lots of different landscapes and wildlife around our gites. Famous Cognac is 30 minutes east of us and the nearest beaches are 35 minutes to the west, although the Charente Maritime has something like 450km of sandy beaches!. Some are town beaches and other are backed by sand dunes Historic towns of Pons and Jonzac are worth visiting as well as Cognac, Bordeaux and La Rochelle. We are also close to the pretty ports of the Gironde estuary. There are lots of daily markets and we can recommend the best. There are also weekly Night Markets full of fun entertainment, food trucks, wine and beer. Choose your food and the sit along large communal tables where you can try out your rusty French (then you will quickly find out that your French acquaintances will try out their English!). As for restaurants? Prices here are cheaper that on the coast. We have numerous great restaurants in the towns close by which we can recommend to you.
