This pretty house, in the centre of the sought after village of Lourmarin, classified as one of the 'most beautiful villages of France', is only a few steps away from the lively cafes, boutiques and galleries yet offers a haven of peace and relaxation. Parking is available on site and you can relax on the terraces, in the garden or by the pool. All rooms are on the ground floor, offering easy access and have recently been refurbished to a high standard. Each has its independent entrance, allowing you as much privacy as you wish. Skye is a bijou little studio offering comfort and privacy with its kitchenette and private patio. Cromarty is a comfortable double room with private shower room and offers outdoor seating on the adjoining terrace. It has a fridge, crockery and hospitality tray.
Originally from Scotland, I fell in love with France in my teen years and more recently, with this special region and charming village. I will be delighted to impart some of the inside knowledge that can make your stay with me really special. A lover of good food and wine, art, music and the French language, I will do my best to help you have a truly magical stay. A shared aperitif at the end of a busy day musing over what you have seen and what plans you have for the following day? What is not to like? If you are interested in taking French or English, art or cookery lessons, I can help with this. I can also organise walking, cycling or car tours in the surrounding area. I look forward to spending some quality time with you!
Lourmarin is a lovely village which has managed to remain compact but packs a mighty punch when it comes to liveliness and variety. Whether sipping a glass of wine on a cafe terrace, browsing in one of the many shops or listening to a concert in the impressive castle, the village offers a wonderful base for an authentic experience of Provence. The Luberon National Park lends itself to hiking, cycling, visiting local markets, sampling wine and olive oil and exploring some of the many hill top villages. Fascinating towns such as Aix en Provence, Marseilles, Avignon and Arles, are within easy reach and in the summer there is a wealth of local festivals, art exhibitions and conferences. The International Piano Festival at La Roque D'Anthéron takes place over a month each summer and is an easy car journey away as are the vaious venues in the annual Festival du Sud Luberon. Areas such as the Carmargue and Les Alpilles are nearby, as are the mountains and the coast.
