A carefully restored Bearnaise farmhouse (the original dates to 1770) in a tranquil setting, but only 4 km from all the amenities of a local market town.
Hi, we are Graham and Sue. We have owned Maison Lajus since 2006, and moved to this beautiful part of France in 2014. We love the peace and rural setting, a beautiful climate with 4 defined seasons, and the majestic Pyrenees just a few miles away. We have a friendly dog called Haribo, two Siamese cats who think they own the place, quite a few chickens ( the number keeps changing) and over 100 goldfish in a pond.
Beautiful walks round local lakes with abundant wildlife. The locals are very friendly, the house is at the southern end of the Madiran wine region, with many wineries offering free tastings. Only 1.5 hours drive from the Atlantic coast (Biarritz).
