This beautiful house has been welcoming guests since 1370. A friendly, spacious and relaxing place to mix with friends and family. Hidden behind a stone wall so you can switch off, but in the centre of a village and a few minutes walk from a shop and a great pub serving food. It has been in our family for the last 40 years. The house was gifted to the Church in 1919 as a permanent memorial to the loss of their son during the First World War in 1915
I'm delighted to share our wonderful family home with guests from around the UK and the world.
A few hundred metres from the River Tyne. There are numerous country walks nearby - very dog friendly. The village shop has all the essentials and is open 6 1/2 days a week. The White Swan pub is very close and has great beer and food - you may need to book a table as it's very popular! Prudhoe is less than a mile away with many takeaways, a few restaurants and a supermarket. There is also a Co-Op store 2 miles away in Wylam, open long hours.
We have space for 10 or more cars secluded behind a stone wall. There is a 7kW car charger as well. It is a short walk to the train station with frequent trains to Metrocentre and Newcastle and Corbridge, Hexham and Carlisle. We are 11 miles by road from Newcastle and also Hexham. We are very central for the coast, Hadrians Wall, Beamish museum.
