Our beautiful home offers a large open plan living/dining room with a cosy wood burner and patio doors leading to the garden. There is plenty of space for the whole family, with a play room to keep the children entertained, and a generous family kitchen with breakfast table, the perfect spot to come together and plan the day’s adventures. You’ll find a conveniently placed bedroom/playroom on the ground floor with either 2 singles or a double bed, along with a walk-in shower room. Upstairs are a further three double bedrooms all of which have views of the sea on the horizon, and a good-sized family bathroom with a tub.

Hi, I'm John Ready a proud father of 2 monkeys, 6 and 11yrs old. I've lived on Mersea Island (know as 'The Tropical' to locals!) since 1985 and am a passionate Catamaran racer. I moved here when I was 16yrs old and immediately fell in love with the place and its connection to the sea, it just drew me in. Every night after school I always walked home taking the seaside route and I distinctly remember as I got home each night, not quite believing that this was now my home. We love the sea and the many different ways to engage with it. This is what I hope to share with you to match your needs and interests..

We have a really beautiful range of places to eat and things to do. From the famous 7th Generation "Company Shed" (Oysters), to "Mersea Island Watersports" -run by a dear family friend- which gives your the 'locals' experience to get into the sea by paddleboard, foiling or sailing. For children -and mine love this- crabbing from the pontoon is a must! **All of this is at the end of the road! We have lovely coffee shops too -The Art Cafe run by local a artist- and a new Gastro pub next door - The White Hart. I am always happy to have a chat before you arrive to help you plan your stay!
