Hi and you are VERY welcome to Symonds Yat! We hope you will consider booking one of our cottages (we have two next door to one another so why not invite another group of friends along?!). Our aim has been for you to have a relaxed and comfortable stay in a well equipped home from home. There is a large garage with ample space if you were considering bringing kayaks/fishing equipment etc and a woodburner to sit around on the chilly evenings and frosty mornings. The cottage is in such a beautiful spot with walks into the woods 2 minutes away, or if you prefer to sit and people watch, you can hop on the unique hand ferry (2 minutes walk from the cottage) across to the Saracens Head pub, have afternoon tea at one of the hotels, eat ice cream, hire a kayak - the list goes on! Of course the wonderful Forest of Dean is on the doorstep.

My husband Nick and I have owned two cottages in Symonds Yat for some years and are totally in love with them and the area. We both enjoy walking and pubs so this is just the most perfect place for both!! There is such a lot to do around the area, but you really don't need to use your car if you don't want to! There are plenty of pubs within walking distance offering amazing food; the hand ferry takes you across to the other side of the river where there are more attractions including the Yat Rock which is famous for viewing the falcons. There are river boat rides, ice cream, kayak hire, fishing. Wonderful butterfly centre is also within walking distance. Within half an hour you can be in the middle of the Forest of Dean, but Bristol, Cardiff, Barry Island and the Brecon Beacons are all within an hour drive.
