Cupar is a market town with a selection of local shops including specialist butcher/ green grocers/ delicatessen/ fish shop as well as 4 supermarkets. (Co op 300m, Lidl 600m, Tesco with fuel station) 700m, Aldi 800m) Cupar is on the main train line with Dundee being about 20 mins away and Edinburgh an hours train journey. Bee's Townhouse is about 6 mins walk from train station. St Andrews is 9 miles away. There are a good choice of restaurants/ takeaways and several Mitchelin starred restaurants nearby. Cupar is a quiet town without noisy pubs/ clubs. Bee's is accessed from a well lit car park and I consider it a safe location for solo travellers. I live nearby. Popular tourist places include Hill of Tarvit Mansion House and hickory golf course 2 miles, Ceres Village 3 miles, Scottish Deer Centre 2 miles, Fife Zoo 5 miles, Backhouse Rossie Estate 7 miles, Falkland Palace 9 miles.
