Overlooking the championship golf course, this hotel has free WiFi and free parking. The charming villages of Tintagel, Port Isaac and Boscastle are 15 minutes’ drive away. In the 13th century, Bowood Park was part of the Black Prince’s deer park. It is still set amid 230 acres of picturesque hills and woodland. Each room has an en suite bathroom, a TV, and facilities for making tea and coffee. Guests can dine in the hotel’s restaurant, which offers British and international dishes, including local seafood. Cornish cream teas and a Sunday carvery are also available. The Bowood Park Golf Club has a course which meets USGA standards and is open all year round. Golf clubs and buggies are available for hire on site. The North Cornwall coast, with its surfing beaches and fishing villages, is 15 minutes' drive away.

Welcoming to both non golfers and golfers alike and set in the heart of North Cornwall in 230 acres of rolling hills and woodland, designated an area of Special Landscape Value, the Bowood Park Hotel & Golf Club in Cornwall once formed part of a 13th century deer park owned by the Black Prince. Many guests use us as a central location to visit the outstanding array of North Cornwall coastal villages including Port Isaac, Boscatle, Tintagel and Padstow, returning to watch the sunset over the golf course and embrace good food from our menu and local beers and quality wines in our bar.

Oplysninger om området

The ancient town of Camelford makes an ideal touring centre being only a few miles from the surfing beaches of North Cornwall and the natural beauty and ancient sites of Bodmin Moor. The town, historically a vital crossing point on the River Camel, was formally an important market town and due to its position on the main route into Cornwall and with the patronage of local MPs flourished which is reflected in some of the fine old buildings that line the main street. The public park here by the river is a great stopping off point to enjoy something homemade from the local bakery. The town is often reputed to be the location for heroic King Arthur’s Court of Camelot although the name Camelford is more likely a corruption from old Cornish. However, legend has it that King Arthur met his death at the hands of his nephew Mordred in a battle fought at the nearby village of Slaughterbridge where today you can find Arthur’s Tomb marked by inscribed stone that dates back 1,500 years.
