Braeswick B&B provides comfort, relaxation, stunning views and a friendly atmosphere, at the south end of the beautiful island of Sanday. Braeswick B&B offers high standards of accommodation. We are just 2 miles from the ferry terminal and 5 miles from the airport. All rooms are en-suite with a powerful shower and toiletries supplied as standard. One room is a twin or Super king and has a sea view. The other two rooms are doubles. Breakfast is included and there are various options including a full Orcadian or Orkney Kippers. Sanday is an island of beautiful beaches and dramatic coastlines. There is a fantastic natural arch and beach just over a mile from the B&B and some more natural arches 4 miles away. The B&B has a guest lounge with fantastic sea views. Evening meals and packed lunches can be supplied upon request. During the dark nights of winter you can experience skies without light pollution and there is also a chance that the northern lights will be visible.

Jon has a strong interest in wildlife and photography. It is a great delight when time permitting, guests can be shown parts of the island they might otherwise miss. Jon is always happy to answer questions and help guests maximise their time and comfort on the island in any way he can.

Sanday has many wonderful attractions. It has great beaches with beautiful clear water. There are large sand dunes at Cata Sand and many other beaches. There are also wonderful cliffs and geological features such as caves, sea stacks, natural arches and weathered rock to explore and discover. We have two locations that are tidal. The Holmes of Ire which has great wildlife and a shipwreck and Start Point which has our, unique in Scotland, vertically striped lighthouse. Sanday is fantastic for wildlife. Seal are plentiful and there are many locations where the patient or lucky may spot otters. Sanday gets many migrating birds and has lots of interesting unusual regular birds to see. An excellent heritage centre show-cases the island's 6000 years of amazing history and archaeological findings including finds from the Neolithic, Pictish and Viking ages.
