We manage three properties on site: The Coachman’s Quarters, a self-catering studio apartment for two; The Eyrie, a charming top-floor apartment in the main house; and The Lodge, a delightful cottage that accommodates up to eight guests. Our team is dedicated to maintaining Brantwood not only as a peaceful retreat but also as a vibrant center for the arts. Guests can expect personalised service, stunning surroundings, and a deep connection to the legacy of John Ruskin. Imagine waking up to views over Coniston Water across to the majestic Coniston Old Man and the Lake District fells. Our delightful detached Lodge is a four-bedroom holiday cottage accommodating up to eight people with spectacular views of Coniston Water in the heart of the Lake District. The Lodge comprises of two double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms, a large kitchen-dining-sitting room with wood burning stove, two shower rooms, a bathroom and another separate loo, drying room, patio area. Four of the five bedrooms look out across the lake and have spectacular views. Ideal for family/friends group of 4 to 8 people. The Lodge is centrally heated and a generous supply of logs is provided for the wood burning stove. Stroll around the beautifully landscaped gardens and woodland of our 250 acre estate, which reaches down to the lake shore and Boat landing jetty - Canoes and small sailing dinghies can be launched from our shore. The restaurant on site at Brantwood can cater for take-away evening meals on request.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Coniston Water is ideal for boating, kayaking, and wild swimming (you are more than welcome to launch smaller craft from our beach). History buffs will love the Ruskin Museum, which delves into the area's heritage, including the life of John Ruskin and Donald Campbell’s famous Bluebird K7.
