The cottage is in an ideal location being situated in an historic side street but only yards away from the centre of town. We are also just minutes away from beautiful waterside walks. We love this house because its so close to all the amenities Moffat has to offer yet it is quiet and peaceful. The cottage has been refurbished to a high standard with a good size living room and large kitchen diner on the ground floor. There are two bedrooms with plenty of light and storage , one double and one with three singles on the first floor. Our cottage is of traditional Victorian design and the stairs therefore may pose a problem for anyone with mobility issues. There is no garden at the property however there is a grassy area out the back of the cottage which is used by local residents for hanging out washing. Guests can take their pets to this area but please pick up after dogs and note that the area is not fenced in. Parking - guests can usually park on the street outside or near the house. There is also plenty of free parking around Moffat.

Hi we are Pete and Lorna. We live locally to Moffat with too many dogs! We have travelled extensively using Airbnb and Booking and we hope you find our cottage is a relaxed home from home. We would not normally have face to face contact with guests but we live locally and we are happy to have contact about any recommendations or deal with any problems that may arise. Check-in is via a key in a lockbox which is located at the front door. The code for the lockbox will be sent to guests the day before and entry is from 3pm.

Moffat is a bustling tourist town nestling in a valley on the edge of the Southern uplands. People are often surprised by the number and quality of the local restaurants. Moffat is situated only 1.5 miles away from the A74 (M) making it a perfect stopping off point when travelling North or South. However, it is a destination in its own right. A walking and cycling paradise with nearby lochs for water sports. Glasgow and Edinburgh are one hours drive away with historic Carlisle and Dumfries even closer. The oft undiscovered Solway coast is easily accessible and there are numerous castles and other historic sites in the vicinity that are easily accessible. Moffat is Scotland's first eagle town so worth bringing binoculars to catch sight of one of the local golden eagles. Moffat is a dark sky town providing amazing night skies on clear nights. There is usually no problem parking near to the cottage but parking is free throughout Moffat and there are usually plenty of parking spaces.
