If you’re a lover of all things vintage or antique, Tetbury is undoubtedly the place for you, with some 25 antique stores located throughout the town. There’s an abundance of stylish and arty cafes, pubs and restaurants and independent interior, clothing and food shops, as well as Highgrove - Prince Charles’s Tetbury residence-inspired shop. Enjoy wonderful walking routes right from the front door, and the Tetbury Goods Shed, with its eclectic mix of music, art and theatre, is a minute away. Within a 10-mile radius, there are several places of interest to visit, including Nailsworth, the National Trust’s Newark Park, Westonbirt Arboretum, Owlpen Manor, Woodchester Mansion, Highgrove House, Badminton, and Gatcombe Park. There is a well-stocked Cooperative food store in walking distance on the High Street. A Tesco superstore is the main supermarket in Tetbury, a 15-minute walk from the cottage, on London Road. The town also has two independent bakeries, a cheese shop, a butcher, a deli and a health food shop. All major supermarkets will deliver to the cottage. There are plenty of walks in and around Tetbury to suit all ages and mobilities, from historic strolls past the town’s most famous landmarks, to rural rambles across the surrounding Cotswold countryside. The Tetbury Trail (once the Tetbury to Kemble Branch Line) is a gentle and historically interesting walk that’s suitable for walkers, cyclists (mtb) and horse riders.
