Nestled on the edge of the rugged North Yorkshire Moors National Park the historic costal town of Whitby offers many delights for the discerning visitor. As you approach, the panorama is dominated by the 13th century cliff top ruin of Whitby Abbey, so famous too for its association with Bram Stokers’ Dracula. During your stay in Whitby you may choose to ascend the 199 steps to the Abbey or wander the cobbled streets below which offer a myriad of unique shops, including those selling the famous Whitby Jet jewellery. Whitby’s attractions are diverse from its wonderful coastal beaches and sea trips to the culture of museums, including Captain Cook and The Whitby Museum in the beautiful setting of Pannett Park.
