The brand-new kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook and dine comfortably, including quality appliances, ample storage, and a breakfast bar for relaxed mornings. The living room is warm and welcoming, featuring a soft sofa, smart TV, and carefully chosen décor that gives the home its calm and modern feel. Each bedroom has been designed with your comfort in mind, from fresh hotel-quality linen to blackout curtains for a restful night’s sleep. There’s a flexible bedroom setup suitable for families, friends, or colleagues, and we can tailor the beds (e.g. two singles or a super king) to suit your preferences before arrival. The bathroom has been completely renovated too, with a powerful shower, sleek fixtures, and soft towels provided. Outside, you’ll find a private outdoor space perfect for your morning coffee or a breath of fresh air after a day exploring Durham. Free parking is available on site and on the road, and the area is quiet and residential, ideal for relaxing while still being close to everything. We’re located in Gilesgate, just 4 minutes by car or 20–25 minutes on foot from Durham city centre. Buses run frequently, and there are supermarkets (Tesco, Aldi, Sainsbury’s Local), takeaways, and local pubs all within walking distance. Hi, we’re Teema and Phil, a husband-and-wife team based in Newcastle, just a short drive from Durham. We’re both university lecturers (Teema at Durham, Phil at Northumbria), and we’ve always had a soft spot for Durham’s charm, history, and peaceful pace of life. That’s why we chose to set up our holiday home here, a place we love and know well. We manage the property ourselves and take great pride in making it a calm, clean, and cosy space for guests. Whether you're staying for work, a family visit, or just a quiet getaway, we aim to make your stay seamless and relaxing.
