Elgar Escape is a newly redecorated, bright and airy, self-contained annexe, accessed via its own step free entrance and comprises an open plan lounge and sleeping area with a separate kitchen and bathroom. The annexe is situated in a semi-rural setting and is ideally located for everything north Devon has to offer. Barnstaple town is a 20 minute walk away, or there are nearby bus stops. The nearest beaches and dunes are 20 minutes drive.

We started hosting in June 2023 and have loved meeting new people from all over the world. My husband is a Paramedic and I am a Nurse, so we have enjoyed hosting fellow NHS workers.

The annexe is located on the outskirts of Barnstaple with fields opposite. These can be accessed through a fence opposite for a walk at any time of day. However, the views across Barnstaple and the estuary at sunset are breathtaking; a must-do when visiting. The annexe is a perfect base to enjoy all that north Devon has to offer The market town of Barnstaple is a 20 minute walk away, or if you prefer, nearby bus stops transport you to Lynton and Lynmouth or to Barnstaple town centre for links to beaches and many other places of interest. It's a 20 minutes drive to north Devon's nearest beach; the stunning Saunton Sands flanked by wide sand dunes. Beyond are the beaches of Croyde; perfect for surfers, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Westward Ho! if slot machines are your thing and many more. There's so much to explore; Exmoor and the north Devon coastline are within easy reach, plus National Trust properties, gardens, farms, a sculpture park, walks and much more besides.
