We love living in York and been a proud Yorkshireman like to show and explain where to get the best out of your time in and around the city or excursions in the Rest of our beautiful county of Yorkshire. However you can spend a week in York and still won't see it all.. Personally I love the old charm of strolling around the ancient city streets and Snicleways as the smaller streets are called here. There are excellent Museums and attractions so if the weather is inclement you still can be entertained. Then there are numerous excellent resteraunts bars and theatres to visit in the evenings or try a Ghost walk

Gillygate Guesthouse is a city centre Victorian period property complete with original fireplaces and ceiling roses. The views from our front rooms offer City views of York and higher rooms have stunning scenes of the ancient city walls and York Minster which is Northern Europes biggest Gothic Catherdral.
