Please note: our holiday rentals are NOT hotels so there are no staff dedicated to you, no meet and greet, and we have dogs you might see, we are pet friendly and the bedding, pillows and cushions are feather and down ( = no good if you have allergies), our rentals are set within a large country estate so you may see gardeners etc and there is lots off gravel which is not wheel friendly for chairs and suitcases, it would take you 15 mins to walk into the centre of town and the pool is NOT in use. So if ANY of that is an issue for you, please do NOT book. Our rentals are ideal only if you're looking for a private home from home. So if you are looking for a fabulous country retreat, which borders the heritage city of Bath AND boasts access to great shops then you have found it! You will feel like you are in the country BUT just 1 min drive to the nearest supermarket (Sainsbury’s) and a beautiful town - and only 12 mins on the train direct to the centre of historic Bath. The Old Pool House is a spacious, ground floor studio within the grounds of a large country house set within 12 acres of gorgeous green belt. Beautifully furnished it is a large room with a small kitchen, comfy king bed and a separate large, luxury shower room. Is air conditioned and has a log fire for the cooler months. Plus your own patio and garden, a 50 inch smart TV and hi-speed wi-fi. For extra flexibility or a third guest, the sofa can be made into a single sofa bed by you (bedding and extra towels underneath the bed with instructions) as well as a comfortable king bed with bedding provided. Dog friendly, you are welcome to book one of our 2 fantastic (award winning) dog playfields which are on site. We have cutting gardens you are very welcome to look at (no dogs allowed there) .

I’m married to James and we have three children and moved here to Wiltshire in the summer of 2019 from Berkshire. I love the peace and quiet that Bradford On Avon offers (no planes!) and whilst it feels like you are in the country, it’s great to be so close to the town and the city of Bath which is gorgeous. Love Frome for the independent shops and markets too. I adore dogs and I have Royal Kennel Club accreditation as a specialist with regard to show type cocker spaniels as well as a 5 Star Animal Welfare Licence from Wiltshire Council and we privately hire the fields in our grounds to dog walkers and trainers - you will be able to use it when you're here. I’m also very fond of chickens and have a flock of around 25 mixed rescues and pure breeds. The vast, vast, majority of our guests are wonderful (you can read the negative reviews of the ones who haven’t been!) because they have read the listing and booked accordingly. I never understand reviews when they admit to not having read a key piece of info, or made an assumption, and therefore don't have the stay they hoped for and reflect that In a review. So do us all a favour: please read everything or ask if unsure - but do not book if you think it won't meet your needs as you won't enjoy your stay - and neither will we. Our holiday rentals have been really successful and always booked (we're currently building a third) so hopefully, we have thought of everything you might need from building a real fire, to checking the wi-fi is switched on! They are self-contained and quite separate (were are in 12 acres) and are set-up to run independently of us - but we are on site most of the time should you need us in an emergency.

Bradford on Avon is a stunning historic town with lots of independent restaurants and coffee shops. Granby Cottage is conveniently situated just 1 mile away from the town centre (less than 5 minutes drive to the town), and only 0.5 miles to the local Sainsburys which you will find very handy. The local train station is just a 12 minute train journey to the centre of Bath and there are two dog friendly pubs either side of us which are a 12 minute walk away. Whilst you will not be bothered by traffic, light pollution or planes, we keep with grounds free range rescued ducks on one of the ponds and a flock of hens and horses owned by others in nearby enclosed areas.
