Situated in the centre of the pretty village of Shipton Gorge, and just a short distance away from Burton Bradstock and popular Hive Beach, Hope Cottage is an attractive, cosy and comfortable cottage ideal for up to five guests.

Hope Cottage is ideally situated for exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the West Dorset coast, with its wonderful beaches such as Hive Beach at Burton Bradstock, with its popular seafood café, just two miles away by car. Cogden, West Bexington and Eype, are also a short drive and offer unspoilt shingle beaches, home to a wide variety of beautiful coastal flowers and wildlife. Just a couple of minutes stroll from the cottage is The New Inn, an attractive traditional pub with garden; further country pubs can be found in the many neighbouring villages. The market town of Bridport is a thriving, quirky and cultural town with a super reputation for its arts, culture, events and food. The town is a hive of activity with a mix of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. The regular markets held on Wednesdays and Saturdays see the two main roads packed with antique, flower and food stalls boasting local produce. West Bay lies just a mile on from Bridport and is an attractive and bustling harbour village. From here you can explore the dramatic and famous World Heritage site of the Jurassic coastline. Eggardon Hill, can be reached by a 10 minute car drive and is an Iron Age fort with incredible sweeping views across the Marshwood Vale towards the coast, its the perfect spot for walking and watching the sunset. Mapperton Gardens can be found close to the town of Beaminster and offers a beautiful manor house and romantic gardens all set among tumbling hills and unspoiled countryside. The county town of Dorchester with its museums, Roman Townhouse, shops, restaurants, and Maiden Castle is just over a 15 minute drive away from the cottage.
