Nesting within an avenue of giant sequoia trees, The Courtyard is quiet and peaceful, with our peacocks and chickens for company. It has Private entrance. 2 bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and the main bathroom has a sumptuous slipper bath. There is a light and airy living room with 2 large comfy sofas, dining table, TV, books and some board games. No TVs in the bedrooms. Plenty seating area outside. There is a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, kettle and coffee pod machine. I provide free coffee, tea, sugar and some milk and muesli to start you off. There’s also a gas barbecue available. Please note : THERE IS NO COOKER, there is an AIR FRYER!
My husband and I live in the other half of the house, but you have a private entrance to the property. I work from home so will be on hand if needed. You have full use of the courtyard but are also welcome in the garden. We’re happy to interact as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. The peacocks are also very friendly!
This is a beautiful part of Northumberland. There are some lovely walks right on the doorstep, Derwent reservoir is within walking distance, and Hadrian’s walk is not far. We’re an ideal base whether you’re exploring the countryside, coast, shopping, golfing , or attending a wedding. Slaley Hall, Matfen Hall, Close House, Healey Barn are all just a short drive away.
